There is a quiet inner narrative that many people carry beneath the surface of their daily lives. It says,
“I’m not enough.”
“I don’t deserve more.”
“Who am I to succeed?”
Such misaligned core beliefs are more than thoughts, they become part of your identity. They shape your decisions, limit your capacity to receive, and subtly interrupt your personal growth and success.
From an energetic and somatic perspective, this pattern is deeply connected to imbalances in the Root Chakra (your foundation of safety and belonging) and the Sacral Chakra (your center of emotional flow, creativity, and worthiness). When these centers are blocked or dysregulated, they reinforce a scarcity-based identity.
Rebuilding these beliefs on a foundation of strong self worth, opens you to believing, “I am enough. I deserve all that I desire. And I am able to succeed at my goals.” Recognizing your self-worth and honoring it with self-respect, creates the foundation for empowered growth; and it opens the door to activating the Solar Plexus Chakra, where confidence, self-trust, and personal power live.
The Identity of “Not Enough” Is Learned
The belief that you are undeserving or not enough is rarely something you consciously choose. It is learned through:
- Early childhood experiences (inconsistent care, criticism, instability)
- Attachment wounds (feeling unseen, rejected, or unsafe)
- Societal conditioning around worth, productivity, or comparison
- Repeated emotional invalidation
Over time, these experiences become internalized. Instead of seeing them as things that happened to you, they become truths about you. This is where identity forms, and “I am not enough” becomes a lens through which you interpret opportunities, relationships, and even your own potential.
As you begin to identify when you view yourself through the learned lens versus when you view yourself through the lens of your own core values and beliefs, the path to growth becomes ever clearer. Clarity in these views brings about the development of self-identity based truly on you, rather than previous conditioning.
Healing Safety, Stability, & the Right to Exist
My last two blog posts were discussions on the Root and Sacral Chakras, and they tie into the level of self-worth and strength of self-identity that you rely on to create safety, stability, and the right to exist as dictated by your own core values and beliefs.
The Root Chakra governs your sense of safety, security, and belonging in the world. Imbalances here create feelings of:
- Chronic anxious or unsettled feelings
- Sense of financial insecurity (even when stable)
- Fear of taking risks
- Disconnection from your body or the present moment
An underactive Root Chakra whispers, “It’s not safe for me to have more.” So when opportunities arise, your nervous system may resist them. Growth feels unsafe. If you don’t feel safe, you cannot expand. If you don’t feel grounded, you cannot sustain success.
This creates patterns like:
- Self-sabotage when things start going well
- Staying in survival mode instead of growth mode
- Avoiding visibility or new opportunities
Healing the Root helps you create a foundation of feeling safe in your body, trust in your environment, and stability in your decisions.
Supportive practices include: grounding exercises (walking barefoot, nature connection), nervous system regulation (slow breathing, body scans), and financial empowerment practices (budgeting, reframing scarcity beliefs).
Affirmation:
“I am safe to grow. I am supported in creating a stable, abundant life.”
Reclaiming Worthiness, Pleasure & Emotional Flow
The Sacral Chakra is your center of creativity, emotional expression, and self-worth. It governs your ability to feel, receive, and enjoy life.
When imbalanced, you may experience:
- Guilt around pleasure or success
- Emotional suppression or overwhelm
- Creative blocks
- Difficulty receiving love, support, or abundance
The Sacral Chakra asks, “Am I worthy of experiencing joy, success, and fulfillment?”
A blocked Sacral Chakra fuels feelings of being “undeserving.” You may unconsciously believe that you must earn rest, joy, or success. You may believe that you are “too much” or “not enough” emotionally, and that receiving is unsafe or selfish. It is easy to see that such beliefs lead to overgiving and burnout, rejection of opportunities, discomfort with recognition, and feeling disconnected from your desires.
Healing your Sacral Chakra, allows you to reconnect with your inherent worthiness, your emotional intelligence, and your creative life force. Supportive practices for Sacral healing include: creative expression (writing, art, movement), emotional processing (journaling, therapy, mindful reflection), and pleasure practices (allowing joy without guilt).
Affirmation:
“I am worthy of receiving joy, abundance, and success.”
The Bridge to Growth: Activating the Solar Plexus Chakra
Once the Root provides safety and the Sacral restores worthiness, the Solar Plexus Chakra becomes the engine of transformation. This is your center of confidence, personal power, identity and action.
If the Root says, “I am safe” and the Sacral says, “I am worthy,” then the Solar Plexus says, “I choose to show up for myself, as myself, fully, and take action aligned with my core values and beliefs."
The “lack mindset” is not merely about money, it’s about identity. It’s a belief that there is never enough, and that you are not worth enough to have more. The Solar Plexus helps you rewrite that identity.
Activating the Solar Plexus creates the ability to make decisions without overthinking, set and hold boundaries, take action toward goals without waiting for perfection, and to trust yourself. Activating practices include goal setting with aligned action steps, boundary work (saying no without guilt), and confidence-building through small, consistent wins.
Affirmation:
“I trust myself. I am capable. I take empowered action.”
Integrating Lower Chakras: From Survival to Expansion
When these three energy centers work together, your identity begins to shift:
| Chakra | Core Shift | Identity Transformation | Affirmation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Root | Safety | Survival → Stability → Expansion | “I am supported.” |
| Sacral | Worthiness | Fear → Worthiness → Confidence | “I deserve to receive.” |
| Solar Plexus | Empowerment | “Not enough” → “I am becoming” | “I create my reality.” |
Coaching Practice: Rewriting Your Identity
Take a moment to reflect and journal on the following:
- Where in my life do I feel “not enough”?
- What evidence am I using to support that belief?
- What would it feel like to believe I am already enough?
- What is one small action I can take today from a place of worthiness?
Final Thought
You are not stuck, you are patterned, and patterns can be changed. Healing your Root and Sacral Chakras doesn’t just make you feel better, it changes how you see yourself. When your identity shifts, your choices shift. When your choices shift, your life expands. You don’t need to become someone new. You simply need to reconnect with the version of you that already knows, you are safe, you are worthy, and you are powerful.
